manages the Cityride program for the City
of Los Angeles Department of Transportation, providing the
opportunity for over 85,000 registered senior and mobility
impaired Los Angeles area residents to obtain low-cost
transportation fare supplements quarterly.
Cityride is a program for individuals in
the City of Los Angeles aged 65 or older and persons with
mobility impairments. Cityride registrants
may purchase a book of 72 transit scrip once quarterly and
use them to obtain MTA monthly bus passes and discounts on
taxis, private lift-van and Cityride
lift-van Dial-A-Ride services.
In a recent upgrade of Cityride, the
City contracted CDSNet, LLC.
to author a fully automated distribution and accounting
application to replace previous semi-automated and manual
systems. The CDSNet, LLC.
Cityride application integrates modern
scanning and bar-code technologies with a Microsoft NT-based
LAN, speeding customer transactions. New audit and reportage
features were also added to help the City monitor and expand
this vital program.
